Four weeks left at the Celebration of Fine Art

Driving home one evening from the Celebration of Fine Art show....after it rained all day, there was a beautiful rainbow.  This photo was taken while I was driving and I was unable to pull over to capture the shot while the rainbow was so amazing and much bigger and brighter than this.

I have been working on several new paintings at the show and one of them has a little owl feather in it that I am painting.  One of the artists "Tom Lucas" gave me several feathers that he had for reference.  He also was demonstrating his technique to achieving live like feathers.  His western art is fantastic and can be seen at:  http://tomlucasart.blogspot.com/

Here are some more snapshots from the "Celebration of Fine Art" with Tom Lucas and I:

Also...a little update...I did sell my new bluebird painting yesterday that was titled "Where'd Everybody Go" and also "Sunday Brunch."  I will be working on lots of new things over the next few weeks.  I hope you can stop out to the "Celebration of Fine Art" before the end of March to see the whole show.

Bird Series - "Doorstep in San Miguel"

"Doorstep In San Miguel"

This photograph was inspired by a beautiful carved doorway in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.  I was painting over there and enjoyed the beautiful and very colorful architecture.  The first photo is the actual doorway.   In my painting I just did the bottom of the doorstep along with a little Mexican jay....since "birds" are my thing these days.  It is a 24"x 12" oil painting on canvas and it is framed.  It is available now at the "Celebration of Fine Art" show in Scottsdale, Arizona.  For more information, you can contact me at:  br1fineart@cox.net

A look at the Celebration of Fine Art

A look at the Celebration of Fine Art

Painting at the Celebration of Fine Art show

Painting at the 2010 Celebration of Fine Art show

There is a photograph of this painting "The Birds & The Bees" (48" x 48") in the March issue of American Art Collector magazine, and also of my "To Kill A Mockingbird" painting.  It is the wonderful Still Life issue.  My inspiration for my "bird series" came from my father, his hobby was bird carving and he always wanted me to paint birds.  It wasn't until later in my career that I finally gave into that as a subject matter and now I am forever hooked.

There is still five more weeks to go at the Celebration of Fine Art show.  I have many new paintings on display there until March 28th.  Hope you can make it out for a visit soon.
